Gröhler's miniatures are essentially realistic and at the same time represent an increase in experience. Even unusual events are concretized by Gröhler. The miniatures thematize our Central European present. Here the author looks around his private surroundings; and it is here in his personal environment that the surprises await. For Gröhler, the factual—what really happened—always takes priority. In addition, there are also connections to classical mythology for him. His miniatures are characterized by absolutely astonishing details; they go far beyond the mere naming of reality. Unusual motifs are pursued intelligently and ingeniously. Children and childhood play a significant role; there is nothing here that has ever been heard of children before. Gröhler is very careful not to pass judgment. He does not prematurely assign a value. A frequent theme is flight. Gender diversity is not ignored either.
