Alles im Lot
Alles im Lot
Is everything alright? That's what a dog owner from Berlin wonders after noticing strange things around her. There seems to be an invasion from the animal kingdom. Like a Tsunami, animals of all kinds and animal herds in great numbers begin to make their way into human metropolises all around the world. The world holds its breath. The peaceful procession of animals also reaches the center of Berlin. What do the animals want to tell the people, how will it continue? And then there is also the mysterious gentleman from Irkutsk with his spitz, who puzzles the narrator …
As in the novella Alles im Lot, which deals, among other things, with the relationship between man and nature, the other three stories in this book also deal with central aspects of modern human life:
Symbiotic - idiotic is about a last love, a ménage-à-trois in the milieu of artists and literati.
Memory is an unusual coming-of-age story about a young woman who breaks out of the sheltered environment of a convent and leads everyone astray.
In Kompagnons the protagonist looks back on an eventful life that was shaped primarily by the postwar years in West Berlin. In the modern, digital world, where nothing remains hidden and everything is put on the net, she gets caught up in a whirlpool of events that makes her realize her strangeness in this world and her longing for death.
