Description
Haiku and tanka poems
Johannes Balve's poems follow the Japanese forms of haiku and tanka and correspond with the ink drawings of the painter René Böll. Both artists are inspired by Far Eastern traditions such as Zen and Dao, which find expression in their play with concentration, serenity and conscious reduction.
New aesthetic possibilities emerge from this foundation of ancient art forms, some of which are enriched by interference with other artistic genres – such as the musical fantasies of jazz pianist Oliver Leue.
The book is artistically committed to the expansion of forms of expression and transcends the boundaries between cultures, tradition and modernity.
