Mensch sein Mansch sein mit Gedankenströmen

In “Mensch sein, Mansch sein mit Gedankenströmen” a tense dialogue is created between pictures and texts. To be human means: “to be ´Mansch` [human] / To be made from dust and mud as the bible puts it / mud in the head / a mixture of facts and lies / hopes and dreams / love, hate and striving for luck / and exactly because of that / also to be human/. “ The texts describe the ties between the human and nature, his desire to manipulate it and to elevate himself over it. They deal with the human’s entanglement in the economy and virtual worlds, with emigration, impermanence and faith. Free rhythms, blank verse, poems in a folkloric tone, passages of rhyming distiches and concise Haikus in Japanese pattern shape the texts. They are opposed by linoleum cuts, which invite to pause, observe and contemplate. Based on crayon sketches, the things seen and experienced are reduced to their main core and then processed in black and white compositions. This abstract depiction of reality and the poetic texts compliment each other and form a fresh view on the human and earth.
