Description

Michael Schubert's life is a pleasant one. He has no financial worries, doesn't have to worry about his job and has a wife who loves him for who he is. He also has enough free time to do the things he enjoys. No one would think that he could lack for anything.

There is probably not much that all people on this planet have in common. Especially when you look at the preferences of individuals, it becomes clear that there are probably as many different goals as there are inhabitants of the earth. Even if the basic needs – roughly categorized into the areas of self-preservation and procreation – are identical for all people (because they are human), there is an almost endless number of different hopes, goals and dreams that each individual keeps alive depending on their personal situation. Without unachieved goals, life is – well, what is it? Do we even need goals that we have not achieved or cannot achieve as a drive for the eternal pursuit of more? Is this really one of those structures that are necessary in life? Or doesn't failure to achieve rather make it impossible for people to feel complete satisfaction? Is it even possible to assume that one is oriented towards the right, really important questions or are there external influences that blur these goals?
